The new 12v Keel Cooler refrigeration system from Frigoboat reduces power consumption and provides flexible installation options to ease retrofits and new boat construction. The heart of the system is a marine-grade bronze keel cooler condenser installed below the waterline through the hull or transom. A cupro-nickel coil inside the cooler acts as a heat exchanger, using the sea waters ambient temperature to condense the refrigerant. This process eliminates the noise and current draw of a fan-cooled condenser and raw-water pump. Frigoboat can mix and match compressors and evaporators to suit a boat owners specific-size icebox and cooling requirements.
